Vataha backs proposed five year NFL pact
Randy Vataha says he is generally satisfied with the proposed five year labor contract between the NFL Players Association and the owners after reviewing early settlement highlights. Delegates from 26 of 28 teams meet in Washington to vote on sending the pact to members while owners in New York consider ratification. The agreement alters the college draft, improves pay and pensions, and broadens free agent rights for veterans, with a potential 16 game season and a $15 to $16 million legal settlement by the league.
