Donahue buys Blantyre Castle in Lenox Mass

James G. and Madeline B. Donahue purchased Blantyre Castle on routes 7 and 20 in Lenox for 332000. They plan to form a family corporation to own the 87.5 acre property and reopen it as a restaurant and inn after nearly a year closed. The Lenox Savings Bank had previously bought it for 300000 at foreclosure. Donahue formerly led Southern Vermont College.

Vietnam veteran Cleland named new VA chief

Shaftsbury Town Meeting May Herald Big Warning One

Shaftsbury faces a two proposal season as a single Town Meeting may not suffice. Article 15 seeks tax stabilization contracts for bona fide farmer owners to shield the agricultural character, with a five year land-recapture penalty.
