Manchester Firefighters Seek Funds To Replace Dilapidated Station
Manchester Vermont volunteers say their 1921 firehouse is a safety risk and cramped. After three voter rejections they form Manchester Firefighters Association Inc to solicit private funds and build a new station, pledging personal funds while continuing town department services. The aging building lacks heat, ventilation, bathrooms, and space for equipment, with gear stored in scattered spots and the siren unusable during power failures.
