Clark exhibit opens at Village Gallery SVAC Manchester
The Village Gallery of the Southern Vermont Art Center hosts a Richard Clark show on Union Street, opening Friday. Clark, born in Milwaukee and a Syracuse alum, brings social and moral themes through drawings and paintings. The exhibit runs through March 8 with free admission, gallery hours 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.

NASC to offer seminar series on religion in North Adams
North Adams State College hosts a religion seminar series in Hoosac Hall West Lounge starting tonight. Co sponsored by the Student Affairs Office and local clergy, the program features a panel including Rev John P Richard Rev Paul C Close Rabbi Paul Silton and college members discussing What is the Value of Religion plus future topics and speakers. Vermont officials granted Stratton Corp a permit to dump up to 185000 gallons daily of treated wastewater into Pike Falls Brook until a plant upgrade eliminates discharges. Winhall Jamaica selectmen, after noting browning of the brook, visited the Stratton plant. inspectors found bypassed filters and unattended machinery. Water Resources investigates and asks Stratton for a report. local officials await Stratton’s submission before action.
