Elder Richard Koontz of Idaho Falls Idaho is assigned to the Bennington area as a Mormon minister succeeding Elder Clyde Garner. He joins Elder Michael Shane of Los Angeles who has been in Bennington four months. The pair join a world wide corps of over 13 000 young missionaries serving two years.

The gathering included hymns, devotions, introductions, and co hosts serving refreshments. Upcoming events include a March 5 food sale for Stewardship and Finance, a February 20 mission study session, a World Day of Prayer on March 1, and the March 12 WSCS meeting on Africans Seek a New Identity.

Martha Brooks a well known radio commentator from WGY Schenectady NY will be guest speaker at the Church Women United annual interfaith meeting. The event described as an evening of fun and fellowship for area church women will be held April 24 at 7 PM in St Peters Parish Hall. Also on the program are folk songs by Rev Herbert Sanderson and Mrs Sanderson of Hoosac School and formerly of Bennington. Mrs William A Castle Sr vice president said committees to handle details will be announced soon.
