Bennington Museum to buy Grandma Moses Schoolhouse
Hoosick Falls New York. The Bennington Museum has a binding option with Forrest and Mrs. Moses of Eagle Bridge to purchase the Grandma Moses Schoolhouse and its Grandma Moses mementos. The schoolhouse, opened 1966 as a memorial to Grandma Moses, may remain in Eagle Bridge while the museum will control the exhibition. The Moses couple, aging near 80, sought to avoid long custody and ensure preservation in Grandma Moses memory. Richard C. Barrett, museum director, said trustees would meet to discuss the purchase and a final decision.
