Public notice sets March 6 1962 meeting at Town Hall with polls open until 6 PM. Articles cover road commissioners tax collectors library funding flood reserve zoning and various town expenditures and ballot questions on alcohol licenses and public offices.
The Vermont Elementary Principals Association released a handbook for Vermont elementary school principals. Published with the Vermont Education Association, it is the first such guide for elementary principals after four years of planning and revision. Robert M. Irvine of Bellows Falls oversaw publication arrangements.
The town approves cooperation with Bennington North Bennington and Old Bennington to form a regional planning commission and to sign necessary agreements. A 2000 appropriation covers the commission expenses. A yes vote will levy 2 cents on the grand list.
Bennington Vermont selectmen propose a 1 percent tax on the grand list to fund the Regional Highway Council Inc for reconstructing primary roads serving the town. The measure involves a $750 appropriation and directs the tax collection to the council, with vote dates February 15 to March 3, 1962.
