Small earthquake shakes Wabash Valley near Mount Carmel
A minor quake rattled homes and windows Friday along the Illinois Indiana border near Mount Carmel. There was no damage and many slept through it. The tremor hit about 6 45 a m CST, centered 5 to 10 miles west of Mount Carmel and 125 miles east of St Louis measured 3 5 to 4 on the Richter scale. Local residents reported slight shaking and brief jolts as they went about the morning.
