High-speed Route 7 crash claims Pownal man

Arthur L. Sprague 38 of Cherry Court Trailer Park Pownal died in a one car crash on Route 7 Shaftsbury Saturday at 8 30 pm. His brother Gregory C. Sprague 36 was injured and treated at Putnam Memorial Hospital. The Ford sedan traveled at an extremely high rate of speed veered off the right side Bottom Hill struck trees and was found torn apart. The body was taken to Hanson Walbridge Funeral Home for examination by Dr Arthur S Faris before removal.

Broad powers claimed for impeachment inquiry

Soviets press Syria to push talks with Israel

The Soviet Union agreed to press Damascus to advance troop withdrawal talks with Israel as clashes flare on the Golan Heights.
