Bennington County Industrial Corp Ties to VIDA Loans and 1975 Outlook
BCIC reports a 200000 loan from VIDA with 900 days to repay, construction costs around 170000, and contingencies. Formed 1958, it built a 30 acre industrial park core from Lyon s and Barney properties, with tenants including Vermont Container Corp and the state Highway Department, and later added 35 more acres and a Little League field. The group fought a railroad spur abandonment, helped mobile light industry efforts in Northshire, and lobbied Route 7 funding. Treasurer Armand Lampron announced 80000 in liquid assets, two million plus in liabilities mainly mortgages to VIDA. Major employers, including Green Mountain Furniture and Jard Co, reported mixed 1974 results. Dodge Machine Co. noted booming orders. New BCIC president Larry Arseneault noted 1975 goals to market the new speculative building and push VIDA appropriations, with VIDA reps praising the balance sheet and tenants.
