Dailey Jr. highlighted a 37,500 square foot speculative shell building in the industrial park off Bowen Road, nearly finished by Pizzano Construction Co. of Pownal. BCIC seeks tenants or buyers, with VIDA financing handling the building costs. John Cook of Chemical Fabrics Corp. expressed definite interest in occupying the facility if financing can be arranged.

Burns clashes with Ford over pessimism and inflation threat
Burns told Congress he finds Ford too pessimistic about the economy while offering no forecast. Ford projected unemployment around 8.1 percent this year and 7.9 percent next year with inflation at 10.8 percent this year and 7.5 percent in 1976. The Los Angeles Times cited staff pressure pushing gloomier federal forecasts. Burns also opposed the President's energy plan and resisted moves to boost money supply. He blamed high taxes for weak productivity and noted rising absenteeism.
