The Woodford's Little Pond firm plans a large vacation home project at the wilderness lake. A scene along the east shore looks toward nearby Glastonbury's peaks in an area described as unpopulated. Little Pond has long been a favorite spot for hunters and hikers.
Woodford selectmen have asked Town Counsel Norton Barber to draft an interim zoning regulation aligned with state guidelines to preempt a proposed vacation home project. The Great Northern Land Corp of Boston plans development on an estimated 1,000 to 1,500 acres in Woodford's north central area for spring and summer construction. Barber noted the draft will mirror his Bennington zoning model, which was not adopted there.
