Prestige colleges vs junior colleges and transfer paths

The article explains junior colleges as two year schools offering vocational or liberal arts tracks with transfer options to four year colleges. It lists programs from nursing to drafting and notes small student bodies, with some public colleges larger. It discusses prestige colleges, Ivy League and other named schools, and argues that success depends on student effort and fit rather than name, signaling a shift away from prestige toward suitable education.

New voluntary admission policy at Brandon Training School

Mental Health Commissioner Dr. Jonathan Leopold outlines six months of voluntary admissions at Brandon Training School since July 1 1967 after two bills. Since opening, seven of 30 admissions followed new policy including a day program for an adolescent girl and full time care for three younger girls, with others in work or training. Policy expands access for short term evaluation and emergency family needs while prioritizing professional need over administrative order. A waiting list of about 75 persists as Bennington residents explore overseas service via Peace Corps test at Rutland Post Office on Feb 17.
