Bennington Court Finds Equinox Not Liable in Lumber Dispute
A Bennington County Court jury cleared Eugene Bovey and Equinox House Inc of Manchester of liability for 7000 in damages sought by John and Marjorie LaFountain. The suit centered on lumber and furnishings from razing a building on Equinox property, with the LaFountains alleging contract-based possession failed and that Farley disposed of the materials. Bovey admitted taking some items but claimed the LaFountains abandoned their rights before May 1, 1964, and the jury effectively dismissed the claims.
