Selectmen Take Rain Check On Pawlet Taxpaper Meeting
About 50 Pawlet taxpayers pressed town officials for answers on spending. Only one of the three selectmen attended the meeting to discuss a $3,400 legal bill and an alleged $29,000 town funds shortage tied to the clerk’s office. The Taxpayers Association criticized the town for seeking a lawyer during 1968 assessments and appeals.
