Fire kills six in Vermont farm house blaze
A Vermont fire killed six members of a single family and a grandmother, with only a Syracuse boyfriend of the daughter surviving. The blaze struck a rental farm house early Wednesday, destroying the structure. Wil liam Stier Jr. (19) aided by alerting a neighbor after waking to smoke at 2:15 a.m. The victims were Gerald Warren Sr., 42, his wife, Frances, 17, Gerald Jr., 16, Barbara, 18 months, and Florence Warren, 74, of Syracuse. Warren worked as an engineer at Simmons Precision in Vergennes. The house, owned by Robert Redpath of New Jersey, was relocated to central Vermont about a year ago.
