Christmas open house ends at John G. McCullough Library North Bennington
North Bennington Today reports the last day of the Christmas open house at the John G. McCullough Free Library. The library will close Saturday Monday and Tuesday and reopen Wednesday December 28. Creek's payroll is about 40950 dollars with pension contributions around 5528 dollars. Town officials debate pension plans for highway workers noting many men may never qualify for benefits and that turnover is high. Elections determine nine of twelve covered positions. A five year town employee requirement applies to pension eligibility. At a fund meeting the board favored some pension type for highway workers but accepted that cheaper plans for those workers alone may exist compared to the state fund.
