ATHENS sources said a new Greek constitution for the military regime will not curb the king’s power and will add controls on Communism. A 20 member commission of judges and law professors will present the draft to the government Saturday, strengthening executive powers over parliament. King Constantine is in Rome. envoys shuttle between Rome and the colonels.
The United States has begun delivering A4 Skyhawk jet attack bombers to Israel after an embargo during the June fighting. Officials say 43 planes were promised before the war, with shipments resuming by year end. Israelis view the A4 as outmatched by MIG211s and newer Soviet models.
In South Vietnam 154 civilians were killed across 218 terrorist incidents over recent days. U.S. troops retaliated by moving into War Zone D north of Saigon, while B 52s bombed DMZ artillery positions. Marines launched an air and amphibious assault just south of the DMZ against suspected North Vietnamese forces.
