Vermont approves Blues merit rating plan for groups
Banking and Insurance Commissioner James Guest approved Blue Cross Blue Shield merit rating for groups of 100 or more in Vermont. The system bases rates on groups health records and takes effect March 1, 1976, with annual filings from July to July. About 100,000 members in 104 plans are affected, enabling lower rates for healthier groups and paving bids for 6,000 state employees and dependents.
