No Man's Land Faces Three Meetings to Decide Fire Pact

Hoosick Falls residents grapple with extending fire protection for No Man's Land past December 31. The Hoosick Falls Fire Department proposed a $2,000 annual contract, covering insurance and equipment, with a projected $18.48 tax per $1,000 assessment, though rolls are incomplete. The plan, welcomed by some officials but questioned by others, triggers a sequence of special village and town meetings, a public hearing, and potential redrawing of district lines as December 30 approaches. If no contract is offered, residents risk losing protection after year’s end.
