Pownal bond revote drive by Lounsbury and Johnson
Two Pownal men James W Lounsbury and Harry Johnson have filed a Section 704A petition seeking a revote on the Dec 8 1970 school bond for 600000. If signed by 5 percent of registered voters the move would halt bond sales and force another vote at the March Town Meeting. They allege misrepresentation of costs and say the public was not adequately informed. The petition is due Jan 7 for the school board to call a new vote.
