Jongkind and the Pre-Impressionists at Clark Art Institute
A major U.S. exhibition opens tomorrow at the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute in Williamstown Mass. It features Johan Barthold Jongkind and other French landscape masters with over 110 works including 34 by Jongkind, on view through Feb. 13 1977. The show, organized by Charles C Cunningham, draws loans from major museums in North America and Europe and accompanies a 35 minute color film Portrait of a Great Painter. Admission to both the exhibition and film is free.

Barbara Walters undercuts interviews in own special
The Barbara Walters Barbara Walters Special on ABC draws sharp critique. The writer calls Walters a poor interviewer for interrupting Carters and Streisand-Peters, noting her self interview between segments and urging harder restraint to let subjects finish thoughts. The piece contrasts Ed Newman and Walters, and ends by citing a Washington Post note on auditions at the Brattleboro Center for the Performing Arts.
