Hoosick board hears snowmobile route and village parking clash

Hoosick N Y committee members seeking a town road snowmobile route presented to the town board asking approval for a path from Parsons Avenue in Hoosick Falls along Fairbanks Road to Walloomsac and toward Smiths Service station. The board asked for exact road names and a legal framework to authorize the route with a Dec 30 meeting to decide. Separately village officials refused permission for village street use, while a complaint about a nearby athletic field parking lot and curbing changes led to discussions with the mayor and plans to request curbing replacement. Residents also pressed for higher senior tax exemptions and budget funds for the elderly. A planning-board resignation was noted as well as extended dog quarantine and calls for a new town dog warden amid dog complaints. Pope Paul VI reportedly has influenza symptoms and will miss the weekly audience.
