No pay for water board vote by Bennington selectmen
In a 3 to 2 decision the Bennington selectmen rejected paying water commissioners 500 dollars a year. Drysdale and allies failed to push the plan while Boutin led the opposition calling the commissioners dedicated and unpaid. Boutin then withdrew his resignation, citing two vacancies and a winter trip beginning December 28. Joseph Higgins had recently resigned, and his son Ronald became town accountant.
