Fire incidents and community events in Cambridge
Firefighters battled a tractor fire at Malcolm Hamilton’s farm between West and South Cambridge. A second call involved a Hoffer milk tanker overturned on New York 372 near Green School House Hill, with the driver hospitalized and traffic detoured briefly. The Firemen's Auxiliary met at Hotel Cambridge for a Christmas party, voting aid to the Washington County Children's Fund and a needy family. The Cambridge Central School Band joined Arlington for an exchange concert, with CCS director Peter Proud and Arlington’s George Wheeler leading joint performances. The event featured a flag ceremony, Brownie activities, a magic act, and a surprise Santa arrival distributing stockings.
