Delayed grand jury in Manchester bartender murder case
Manchester grand jury hearing in the Oct 5 Palace Hotel bartender slaying is postponed to allow an important report to be prepared as evidence. Pownal Zoning Administrator Robert Pettit told the Planning Commission he is contacting Town Agent Margaret Lillie about a trailer found in violation of town by laws. Property owner Leo Pambianchi claims he does not own the trailer, and the town may move it at expense. Pettit will call former tax collector Ida Cameron to determine ownership and any back taxes before action. John W. Patterson seeks approval changes to his Act 250 land improvements permit for Patterson Acres, remains responsible for improvements despite selling land to Harold Rhodes Jr. Barbara Sargent's plan to replace a structure with a mobile home was denied for setback violations. Permits issued to George Rogers, John L. Mason, George Bacon, and Wilkinson Construction for dwellings or additions. No action on Patterson Kawasaki sale to car rental pending permit submission.
