Percys Visit In Vietnam Ends With Guerrilla Attack
U S Sen Charles Percy and his wife were attacked by Communist guerrillas near Dak Son in Vietnam. Mortars struck as the couple toured the area, one round landing within 15 feet of Percy, who crawled to safety after a helicopter evacuation. Mrs Percy, unharmed, later said she prayed and felt relieved they survived.
