Storage Problems Jays Vie with Chipmunks and Squirrels

A blustery SEARSBURG day frames a wildlife pantry drama. A bluejay, a gray squirrel, and a chipmunk battle over seeds at a feeder as the chipmunk hops between lawn apartment and bird feeder while the jay digs to uncover hidden caches. A nuthatch mimics the thief but fails, and a hairy woodpecker cleans up the scraps. The scene unfolds like children playing banker and robber, with cleverness, misdirection, and daily hunger.
