Ferry Street Tunnel Work to Start Next Month in Troy
Troy officials say the Ferry Street Tunnel project, bid by A S Wilkstrom Inc of Skaneateles, will begin January with sewer installation and proceed to February for sheet driving. The tunnel, about 500 feet long, should be traffic ready by December, with Ferry Street from River Street to Fifth Avenue paved next summer and utilities installed. The state had planned completion by June 1968, but the contractor expects early completion and minor preparatory work remains.
