No whey to close an audit on whey plant contract
State Auditor Alexander Acebo says he has not closed the audit of a high paid consultant to the whey pollution abatement authority because the consultant Henry McAvoy has not provided information requested by the Emergency Board. McAvoy was asked a month ago about turning over more details on services amid a $533 000 contract for planning a whey plant in Georgia. Acebo warned he may seek a subpoena through the attorney general if the information is not provided. The whey plant aims to repurpose dairy byproducts to fight water pollution.
