Liberalization predicted of birth control doctrine
U S consultant Prof John Noonan of Notre Dame predicted a liberalization of the Catholic Church's birth control teaching. He said the Ecumenical Council decree on conjugal love would prompt development of doctrine while maintaining the ban as current discipline. Noonan noted Catholics largely support the ban but view it as painful, and argued natural law can evolve with medical advances.
