Chelsea House Folklore Center in Brattleboro Neighbors Folk Arts
The Chelsea House Folklore Center in Brattleboro operates from a 100 year old farm, led by Tony Asch, Bill Gehman and Carol Levin with volunteers. It houses a library, archive of every Chelsea House concert, a barn coffeehouse, crafts space, and a weekly folk program. The center funds itself by bartering, offers lessons in dulcimer guitar fiddle and more, and runs a summer folk festival and student internships. It draws audiences from Amherst and Bennington and broadcasts rebroadcast concerts across multiple states with a focus on participatory folk traditions.
