First Combat Day At Sea On Enterprise Ends In Near Disasters
On the USS Enterprise in the South China Sea, two F4B Phantom pilots failed five landing attempts on a pitching flight deck. A rescue helicopter saved both airmen after they ditched. Lt. (j.g.)
