Sept 13 Food Sale to Aid Christian University in Japan
A food sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday September 13 in front of the First United Methodist Church on Main Street will benefit the International Christian University in Japan. The Church Women United of Bennington have supported the effort for five years through active interest and contributions.

Dr Leyasmeyer to Speak at Area Churches
Latvian immigrant and author Dr Karlis Leyasmeyer, who witnessed both Communist and Nazi persecution, will address Missionary Alliance Church at 11 a.m. Sunday and again at 7 p.m. at The First Assembly of God Church on North Hoosick Road in Hoosick Falls, N.Y. He has lectured across the United States and Canada on international issues and is a noted minister and educator. The event is part of a community program to support the university through a food sale.
