Maine district tests four day school week experiment
In Thorndike Maine about 1000 students in SAD 3 will switch to a four day school week from September. The plan runs Monday to Thursday with Friday set for in service training. The district cites budget cuts and a $100000 federal grant for teacher training as reasons for the change. Savings are projected but may require another vote on funding.
