A Dartmouth Medical College professor told a Senate subcommittee that mercury pollution has been overinflated and trace metals like cadmium pose greater health risks. Dr. Henry A. Schroeder warned cadmium accumulates in kidney and liver, links to cardiovascular deaths, and stems mainly from food and soft acidic water. He ranked lead, nickel, carbonyl, beryllium, antimony, and mercury after cadmium in hazard order.

Chevron Fined $1 Million For Offshore Oil Slick
