Power Project Seen Wasteful Says Vermont Official
Albert A. Cree, chairman of the Electric Coordinating Council of New England, condemns the Dickey Lincoln School federal power project on the St John River in northern Maine. He asserts a 40 percent cut in Vermont electric costs by 1980 without federal funding and favors nuclear and hydropumped storage options instead. He warns the project could be obsolete and unwanted if built. In Hell, Michigan, the post office reports brisk sales of a new Dante commemorative five cent stamp.
