Ellenwood Named to State Education Post in Vermont
John W. Ellenwood of South Burlington is named Consultant for Speech and Hearing in Vermont Department of Education. He will develop program objectives, advise superintendents, run workshops, and evaluate state speech and hearing programs. Previously at University of Vermont he taught speech pathology and has Ohio and Indiana connections. He is married to Charlotte Leonard and has two children in South Burlington Schools.

Rutland readers learn the Chaffee Art Gallery hosts five one man shows and a concurrent photography exhibit in an August 21 opening, running through September 13. The exhibit features artists from Vermont and beyond, with hours 10:30 to 5:30 daily and 1 to 4 on Sunday. Labor Day closure noted.

Antiquing and craft displays mark North Shire Labor Day weekend show
A three day antiques show at the Equinox House Manchester features Queen Anne highboy, Seth Thomas pillar clock, James Perrigo cherry grandfather’s clock, and many early pine pieces plus blue Staffordshire and imported porcelain. About 31 dealers from 11 states occupy 33 booths September 4 to 6, with no refinishing materials and fine antiques at sensible prices.

North Shire garden clubs meet for joint program
