Bennington commission reconsiders Flood Brook dam near Peru
After a year, the Bennington District Environmental Commission reopens a Peru project to dam Flood Brook for a 14 to 16 acre pond. Developer Laurence Sealera plans 63 homesites on 124 acres off Route 11, with a dam 306 feet long and 25 feet high. State and local officials discuss septic systems, pollution safeguards, and HOA control. A public hearing will follow the district’s decision, with a permit expected by August 30.
