Seabrook plant not halted by NRC moratorium says PSC
Concord sources report New Hampshire's Seabrook Station construction will not be affected by the NRC moratorium on new nuclear licenses. PSC spokesman Frank Shants says the order has no impact on the Seabrook project which won a $1.6 billion permit on July 7 after a long regulatory fight. Opponents led by the Clamshell Alliance demand license suspension and a full environmental review, while the PSC plans to seek an operating license about a year before unit one begins, targeted for late 1981 with unit two in 1983.
