Traffic Ticket Helped Track Down Son of Sam Killer
Police say a traffic ticket and a neighbor dispute led to the arrest of David Berkowitz, 24, of Yonkers, tying the Son of Sam case to a 1977 Brooklyn shooting. A new composite drawing matched Berkowitz, who fit the suspect profile and bore letters similar to taunts sent to Breslin. Police linked notes to a neighbor, then detained Berkowitz outside his apartment.

Bennington weighs land spray irrigation for sewage upgrade
Engineers say land treatment for Bennington's wastewater is technically feasible but costly. DuBois and King of Randolph found 1,000 to 4,000 acres needed for spray irrigation with 2,000 acres available, at an estimated 10 to 15 million dollars. Infiltration and storage needs would push costs to 4 to 7.5 million, while overland flow is unlikely feasible.
