Coffrin accuses Barre Times Argus of false vote selling charge
Vermont senator Clyde Coffrin challenged the Barre Times Argus to name the person who offered him a committee chairmanship in exchange for supporting Senate reapportionment. Coffrin, 75, claimed the newspaper wrongfully accused him of selling his vote and oath. He gave no further defense of his vote. A separate bill would let Burlington and Rutland issue urban renewal bonds by a simple majority, down from two-thirds.
