Village water board frets over outside town requests
Bennington Village water board discussed outside town requests as it approved metered water service for Barbara-Jean Realty and Burger Chef on North Bennington Road while sending other applicants to the town water commission. Residents along Rooney Court Beech Street Extension and Jefferson Heights sought service, with issues of mains extension, unchlorinated Ryder Spring lines, and a looming four story nursing home near high pressure areas. Directors debated Bolles Brook as a regional fix, noting its two million gallon daily output may be insufficient if village and North Bennington systems merge.
