Beavers and erosion blamed on dam building

Residents of White Creek New York faced erosion along the stream. An engineer from the Soil Conservation Service suggested a dam built by children near the Niles Road bridge contributed to the problem. After a spring flood damaged Niles Road the county stabilized banks with boulders. This summer, residents report the stream being dammed again by rolling boulders into the water at night.

Japan to buy 40 Lockheed patrol planes in ASW role
