Loophole Found In Anti Billboard Law
In Montpelier Vermont a legal loophole in the new anti billboard law allows a first outdoor roadside sign along I 89 to be erected. The sign promotes a New York tourist attraction and was put up a week before a special meeting to discuss legislative changes. Four more permits are pending. The amendment permits signs up to 300 square feet in zoned or unzoned commercial areas defined by three businesses or industries within 1,000 feet of a highway.

Wednesday midnight is the deadline for filing primary petitions for the General Assembly and state offices in Montpelier.
