Vermont high court upholds 14.3 percent power rate hike
The Vermont Supreme Court unanimously approves a 14.3 percent rate increase for Green Mountain Power approved by the Public Service Board to cover fuel costs and rising expenses. The decision allows a future nine percent raise under bond and permits automatic fuel adjustments while urging PSB to revisit rate design. The ruling critiques the board for lacking information justifying a 23 percent electric heat rise and notes the defeat of a special Farm rate.
