In northwestern South Vietnam, Montagnard villagers welcomed a U S Army MEDCAP led by Spec. 5 Bill Martin with bright pills and terpin hydrate elixir called G I Gin. The troops, including Capt. Howard Wilson, found villagers eager to receive treatment for stomach pains headaches and infections amid unsanitary conditions.
