Montpelier Vermont lawmakers fail to relieve the Senate Finance Committee of a bill placing CATV under the Public Service Board. The measure is tabled for a summer study after a 20 to 8 roll call amid heated debate. Sen. Arthur Jones warned the industry would be driven out of business if state and federal controls were imposed. Sen. Leo O’Brien linked the issue to a broader cleanups push and a Republican move on a separate reform bill.
