Kennedy Primary Wins Seen Vital for Nomination
Former White House adviser Kenneth P. O’Connell said Sen. Robert F. Kennedy must win California and Indiana primaries and show well in Nebraska to contend for the Democratic nomination. He argued Kennedy is most qualified, needs momentum, and could gain if he defeats McCarthy in Indiana while South states unlikely to help. He did not expect Rockefeller to run, and Humphrey may seek the presidency.

Katzenbach Sees Breakthrough in Vietnam Talks Site
Washington reports optimistic views from Undersecretary Katzenbach that an impasse over a site for preliminary Vietnam peace talks will be solved. Other officials remain skeptical, noting Hanoi’s public responses haven’t matched private diplomacy. Pearson urged avoiding obstacles to talks and suggested Canada could police a peace settlement, though Canadian troops wouldn’t stand by during fighting.
