Father Present Medal of Honor For Hero Son Killed in Viet Nam
Pfc Milton L Olive II posthumously receives the Medal of Honor at the White House for sacrificing himself to save comrades during a Viet Nam patrol on October 22 1965. He fell on a grenade in a jungle thicket saving four others. Olive was the first Black recipient in Viet Nam and the third U S service member honored there. His father Milton B Olive Jr and about 25 relatives attend. Two other rescuers from the 173rd Airborne Brigade are named. In Chicago the elder Olive accepts a Medal of Merit from Mayor Daley. In Canon City Colorado the city council allows go go dancing with conditions.

Harvard Student Tricked Bank Guards With Prank Note
A 22 year old Harvard student walked into Cambridge Trust Co with a withdrawal slip for 90 dollars and a bank book. He received 100 dollars and returned 10 to the teller, triggering guards and police after a holdup note on the back of the slip. A second Harvard student later revealed a matching note at another bank, showing a prank pattern authorities plan to crack down on.

Immigrants Fill Skilled Labor Gaps Under New Law
Washington reports the new immigration law has drawn over 6,800 immigrants since December via the special skills section. Most go to New York and California, with 30 percent professionals such as engineers and scientists, another 30 percent skilled workers, and 26 percent in service occupations. Family reunification and national quotas are being phased out and functioning well, says Mario Noto.
